The Wheel of Life

The Wheel of Life

The Wheel of Life has Time placed in its hub,
Rotating from joyful state to sorrow;
Learns man to live with hope for the morrow,
Happy today that he can get his grub.

The Wheel of Fate turns at its own queer speed,
Yet, man can alter it using his skill;
Joys and sorrows sequentially fill;
Life on earth seems worthless to some indeed.

But any wheel will turn again, again;
And every state of life will have its end;
This life on earth can be a boon or bane,
Which on the person only will depend.

You turn the Wheel of Life at your own Will,
And much better with Almighty’s help, still.

A Village-life is Better

A Village-life is Better

A city-life has gone to dogs these days,
With problems of water, shelter and food;
The cost of living has gone up always;
The ‘luxury’ cannot keep one’s health good!

A village-life is far better to all;
Tho’ time ticks slowly, health is at its peak;
Yet, love and courtesy is maintained tall;
A simple livelihood, most farmers eke.

But still, men throng the cities all the time,
To live a discontented, worthless life?
And neither are the mind and soul sublime;
Man struggles much to combat daily strife.

So, why can’t men be level-headed then,
And live ’midst Nature’s plants,beasts, birds like wren?

Waiting For The Sun

Waiting For The Sun

I sit and wait for the sun to come
For the fog to clear
For I wish to leave this deep dark rest

I sit and wait for the sun to come
For the light to come back to my heart For
I wish to leave this barren cell

I sit and wait for the sun to come
For the rain to stop
For the thoughts to depart

I sit and wait for the sun to come
For the tears to stop
For the pain to cease

I sit and wait for the sun to come
For now it is to late
For now I will no longer come

SKY

Sky And Cloud

Sky and Cloud,
is like a kiss,
together, sometimes gentle or passionate.

Oh on the blue background sky,
Cloud, the life-quenching, floating oasis passes by,
fluffy white to miles dark and high,
to down and down
droplets for earth to soak in,
then rising back up to sky and cloud again.

Oh, beyond the marketplaces, crowds,
beyond the cities, valley towns,
far from demanding human wants and needs,
at the wellspring of imaginations, creeds.

Above where red-tailed hawk still flies,
or out where the flowing river winds,
...Sky and Cloud,
is like a kiss,
together, sometimes loud or delicate.

Yes, Sky and Cloud,
yes, is like, a kiss,
...What gives us Life,
... to feel, exist.

CLOUDS

Clouds and Waves

Mother, the folk who live up in the clouds call out to me-
"We play from the time we wake till the day ends.
We play with the golden dawn, we play with the silver moon.
"I ask, "But how am I to get up to you ?"
They answer, "Come to the edge of the earth, lift up your
hands to the sky, and you will be taken up into the clouds."
"My mother is waiting for me at home, "I say, "How can I leave
her and come?"
Then they smile and float away.
But I know a nicer game than that, mother.
I shall be the cloud and you the moon.
I shall cover you with both my hands, and our house-top will
be the blue sky.
The folk who live in the waves call out to me-
"We sing from morning till night; on and on we travel and know
not where we pass."
I ask, "But how am I to join you?"
They tell me, "Come to the edge of the shore and stand with
your eyes tight shut, and you will be carried out upon the waves."
I say, "My mother always wants me at home in the everything-
how can I leave her and go?"
They smile, dance and pass by.
But I know a better game than that.
I will be the waves and you will be a strange shore.
I shall roll on and on and on, and break upon your lap with
laughter.
And no one in the world will know where we both are.
